30 books to read this summer | the 30-book challenge

Hey, y'all! I've been really slacking on my reading lately, and I realized I had created a list of books I wanted to read. So i added a couple more, and the "read 30 books this summer" challenge was created.. If you'd like to join in with me, I'm happy to have company. It doesn't have to be these 30 books, or even so much as 30, but get started! You can add any of the books you've already read since summer started and get on reading :)

  5. Looking for Alaska is amazing---I had it on a class booklist a few years ago. I lent it to my younger brother (not a huge fan of reading) to read while we were on a plane and he spent any spare moment the next several days finishing the whole thing. Great choice. I'm a fan of Mindy Kaling's so I'm looking into reading her book too!

  9. I feel you, Caroline! I have been majorly slacking on my reading recently. I downloaded the newest novel in the "Pretty Little Liars" series (one of my reading guilty pleasures), but haven't even had time to get past the first 50 pages.

"The Fault in Our Stars" by John Greene is one of my absolute, all time FAVORITE books. Words can't describe how incredible that book is. If you don't have a book in mind for your next choice, I would definitely recommend reading that one next.

    Happy reading!

    xoxo, Sami

I officially bought The Fault in Our Stars last night on my Kindle, and I'll start tackling it this weekend on the beach!

  14. Unfortunately, Trinidad's libraries lack the same resources the libraries in the US do, and they won't have many YA/fiction novels like on my list! :(

Looks like everyone's promoting those two books - I'm so excited to read them!

  16. Everyone has raved about John Green and his books! I love when so many people recommend the same novel - proves how great it is! People have told me that Looking for Alaska is even better so you should definitely read it!

  17. I love all things Mary Kay Andrews. I've read a portion of The Happiness Project. There are a few on your list that I have slated to read (own the books) that are just waiting for me to pick them up. :) I don't have a summer list, per se, because I keep volunteering myself for book reviews from authors, so the books I already own seem to be stacking up. ;) LOL Best of luck to you!!

  18. I just added so many of these to my Goodreads list. I've read a few of them already like the Lauren Conrad books and loved them. So many great books here!

  19. I only discovered her somehow when I was googling some good books to read this summer when I was bored a couple weeks ago. The book was so good, I couldn't put it down!
My summer list is definitely gonna change up seeing as I just volunteered to read that new Rome book, but as long as I read, I'm happy :)
Hope your summer reading goes well too!

  22. I love the Kindle app on my phone so much! It makes it super easy to be able to read (even just a few pages) when I'm stuck waiting somewhere.

  23. Totally! It's awesome to have when I'm on the go, but sucks that it drains my battery so fast! I hate being bored and stuck in a traffic jam with a dead iPhone and nothing to read :(

  24. Saw the link to this post over on I Am Meg- I love book recommendations and need to cram as many in as possible before school starts up again in less than a month!
Out of these, I've read Mindy Kaling's book and The Happiness Project. Looking into the others, thanks!

  25. Thanks for stopping by :) School starts back for me in about a month too, and I'm definitely crammed for time to finish all these books! Hopefully I get through them!

Mindy Kaling actually went to Dartmouth and was in the senior society with one of my sister's best friends, and apparently she was snooty! That totally changes my perception of her now! :(
